Chicago has recently cracked down on smoking and now the city council is outlawing foie gras. How insane is that? You would think they'd be more worried about education, criminals, etc. but no, it seems they're concerned about duck liver which isn't even served in that many restaurants...Even the mayor is complaining about how stupid this is.
So is foie gras legal in your city? What do you think about the ban? I know some other cities and states have taken some measures or at least talked about doing something (California has talked about this forever). Any favorite foie dishes?
It's not allowed to kill seals and ducks but it's ok to illegally torture and kill people, this appears to be the U.S. attitude at lesat. Sometimes I just don't get people, that's all I can say.
